NCC: An Introduction

Motto of NCC – “Unity and Discipline”

Basic Principles of NCC

Be punctual.

Obey orders happily.

Work hard without hesitation.

Do not make excuses or tell lies.

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the youth wing of the Indian Armed Forces, headquartered in New Delhi. It is a voluntary organization that recruits cadets from schools, colleges, and universities across India. Under this program, cadets receive training in drills and small arms. After receiving training from NCC, it is not mandatory for cadets to join the active army, but by becoming a cadet, one can enhance discipline and personal development in life.

It is a matter of great pride for the school that NCC Army Wing cadet Priya Dalal has brought honor to the school by becoming the Best Cadet of the Army Wing and achieving the rank of Lieutenant in the Indian Army. The school’s Army Wing is currently operating under the leadership of Ms Sarita Bisht.

Importance of NCC Certificates
There are three NCC certificates, namely ‘A’, ‘B’, and ‘C’. You can earn the ‘A’ certificate from school. After this, you can obtain the ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificates from college. A student becomes eligible for NCC in school at a minimum age of 13 years. Students of class 9 are given the opportunity to join NCC. The NCC certificate provides students with opportunities to join the armed forces as a soldier or an officer. Presently, the Haryana Government is also giving preference to NCC cadets.
